First and foremost, happy birthday to
Glitteringloke. ♥ I sincerely hope you had a wonderful day,
and that Crehador didn't pull something creepy like the sneaky bastard that he is. Thank you to everyone who commented on my last entry about my wrist issues! =D I thought it would be easier saying
thank you en masse than responding to each individual comment and coming up with different ways to say the same thing. ♥ Really, I so appreciate all the support! My wrist is doing much better now, thank you. (I'm actually not
entirely sure how I hurt it to begin with; I think I was reckless with carrying my backpack and my books, and not stretching it as well as I probably should have been.) Now my left arm is a little sore after having gotten the flu shot (for the first time!) on Saturday. Which reminds me.
I decided to get my flu shot done at Walgreens to spare a trip to the doctor's office since the drug store is so much closer. $28 dollars for an influenza vaccination that holds
no preservatives sounded very reasonable to me at the time. The pharmacist had me sit down so she could administer the shot. I agreed, made myself comfortable, relaxed as she told me to—but I did
not expect her to jab the needle into my upper arm so forcefully! It was seriously the most painful shot I have ever gotten in my life. I also heard an absolutely disgusting and equally disconcerting spurting sound that made me think she had struck a blood vessel or something. (I never did find out exactly what had caused the noise, but I'm going to assume for the sake of my own comfort that she accidentally squirted some of the vaccine too hard. I had some of it on my shirt, so that is a reasonable assumption.) Then I looked over and saw blood on my arm—just a little dab, but I was already so freaked out from the squirting noise that even seeing just a
bead of my own blood made me flip out—and I had to sit and calm down. I couldn't leave for at least fifteen minutes. Then I spent the weekend with a sore arm, and felt very achy on Sunday. If I am ever asked to administer shots as a pharmacist, I promise to be gentle about them. ;;;; Because I know that it
is possible to be gentle, believe me.
The weather outside is atrocious. This storm is like World War III to those of us over here. I'm not trying to belittle any other natural disasters—goodness, no,
never—but this is pretty bad for
us. School was actually canceled two hours earlier today because the lights kept flickering, everyone was jittery, and the wind was howling too much for us to be able to focus.
Okay, having Professor Burke be the one to interrupt class was pretty thrilling and I kind of did an internal squee. But it stopped there! XD;; IT DIDN'T GO FURTHER THAN THAT. STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT. The rain did not help, either. There were plenty of people who commute to school that did not show up today because of the weather. It's absolutely horrid. It's the first rain we're having this year, and having it be a
storm is not helping. Every freeway is facing heavy traffic not only due to the rain and wind, but because of all the tree limbs scattered around aimlessly. I also fear that the electricity is going to go out as I write this.
ETA: Also, as per LK's LJ in regards to The Abridged Series:
"In other news, I'd like to announce that both episodes 43 and 44 are going to be premiering at Youmacon 2009. Yes, you heard me right. I've been working hard on both of them, and I'm extremely happy with the results. Especially 44, which is baffling because it's Ishizu vs Kaiba. Of all the duels to produce laughs, I didn't anticipate that one being a chucklefest."
This Trustshipping fangirl?—yeah, she's pretty excited right now. ♥
